Igor Roma

The Swiss-born Italian pianist Igor Roma won first prize and the special press prize at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in 1996. He also won prizes at the International Piano Competition in Dublin, the Hamamatsu International Competition in Japan and the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv. His repertoire ranges from Bach to Messiaen and also takes in lesser known piano works by composers such as Szymanowski and De Falla. In 2008 Roma was a member of the international jury of the Liszt Competition and in 2011 he sat on the jury at the international selection rounds. Roma teaches at the International Piano Academy ‘Incontri col Maestro’ in Imola and at the Maastricht Academy of Music.

Besides the International Piano Competition held every three years, the Liszt Competition also hosts a number of other concerts and events.
